Rebecca Tews, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist. She has been partnering with people living their journey since 1990. First as a preschool teacher, then as a therapist, health psychologist, and university professor, Dr. Tews has developed a down-to-earth, practical approach to assisting people in living with meaning, dignity, and joy.
Employing the concept of Kensho~awakening to one’s true nature~ and solution-focused therapy~finding paths that allow one to live in alignment with their authentic self even in a challenging world~she encourages those with whom she works to overcome their challenges, sorrows, pain, and worry. Through guided interactions using a wide variety of evidence-based, best practices in personal change including mindfulness, behavioral, cognitive-behavioral, and meditative interventions overall well-being is improved.
Dr. Tews has a strong foundation in neurobiology, health psychology, and lifestyle changes for improved mental well-being. Additional areas of advanced training are internal family systems, trauma-informed care, military and veteran challenges, family and couples intervention, and Empowered ReliefTM for chronic pain. Dr. Tews is licensed in Illinois and Wisconsin and is a Psypact registered provider.
